Activities for 19th September 2D ESO

Hi everybody!

Remember I told you I couldn´t be with you in the classroom on Thursday? : )

Please, do the following activities. If you do not finish in the class, please finish at home.

Remember to write: date, questions, page number, title of the activity, etc. (take a look at your notebook rubric if you need to).

Activity 1. Understanding what occurred to the ancient Roman Empire. Read page 10 in your book. (Re-read as many times as necessary to understand).
Now answer these questions:
a) When did the Germanic tribes infiltrate in the Roman Empire?
b) Why did Theodosius I divide it in two parts? When did he do that?
c) Which were those parts? Which were the names of their capitals?
d) What happened to the Western Roman Empire in 476?
e) What happened to the Eastern Roman Empire? Did it change its name? How long did it survive? Until when?

Activity 2. What period do we study in 2 ESO? Can you build a basic timeline with the beginning and ending dates and the main periods? Do it in landscape mode!!! (apaisado)

CREATING A TIMELINE

1. Define the beginning and end dates of what you want to represent. Create a line.

2. Divide the line in equal sections (centuries)

3. Place the periods or stages and events with their dates.

4. Place the dates of the most important events on the line.

4. Give the timeline a title.
